Questions/Answers
Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu, on the corner of Nishi-Azabu Crossing, is located just 10 minutes from Tokyo Metro Roppongi, Nogizaka, and Hiroo stations are open until 3 am. Known for being the location of former-US President Bush and former-Prime Minister Koizumi’s Izakaya Summit, and even more famously known for its scene in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 film Kill Bill, Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu’s nostalgic atmosphere brings you back to a Japan of a bygone era. To this day, Gonpachi’s fresh soba noodles, grilled skewers, tempura, and more are popular amongst both Japanese and foreign customers alike. We use carefully selected, regionally-sourced ingredients in everything from the fresh buckwheat that our chefs grind into a flour and use to make our famous homemade soba noodles to our tempura fried to crispy perfection. Whether for lunch or dinner, a date or any special occasion, if you live in Tokyo or are just passing through, we offer an unparalleled Japanese dining experience.

Definitely not a two dollar sign price point. Quite pricey. About 3$ for a chicken skewer (just one skewer)Great atmosphere and very gaijin oriented. If you’re price agnostic and want a good time, this is your place!

Really amazing environment to enjoy as a couple or with friends, the employees are really friendly but also professional. The atmosphere is very lively and noisy, because it's a famous restaurant, but it's also some fresh air from other Japanese restaurants which are more serious. The food was delicious and the prices can go from fairly cheap to luxurious level (15-100€~ per person). The decoration is also amazing and there are special Taiko shows sometimes. Truly a 10/10 establishment.

Great restaurant amazing interior and design. The food is also just as good if not better. If you get there early you don't really need a reservation but if it's important to you then I recommend it. This restaurant is also the basis for the one in Kill Bill vol. 1.

They have 2 floors, one is for dining and other upper floor is for dinner and bar!! Inside is amazing spacious space is covering the kitchen! It’s like stage!! The staffs are good to speak English so no problem for guests all around the world!! Menu is looking a little bit expensive but it’s delicious! Especially lunch time they have reasonable menu!!!! Famous setting of the Kill Bill film but other than that nothing special. Very tourist friendly with lots of English speaking staff. Best to book ahead on the weekends as it fills up between 7 and 10pm. Good selection of sake and beer is available by the glass or in 3000cc pitchers. Food is standard izakaya fare but nothing really stands out.

A must try in Tokyo even if pretty expensive and touristy since it's the restaurant famous because of Kill Bill. The place is wide, bid, cozy and beautiful and the atmosphere is nice and funny with all the waiters screaming to welcome people. We were there just for drinks before dinner and the only thing that was not so nice were waiter making pressure on you for the next order. It's clearly a place for tourists where they push you to spend money, a lot of money since it's pretty expensive.

Fantastic food 5000 yen would be minimum, and don't expect it to be identical to the movie. It's well worth it, great food, service and atmosphere. Has an all you can drink in 2hrs for 2500 yen

Delicious food- 5 starsPresentation- 5 starsFriendly service - 5 starsAmbiance - 5 starsGood for solo and groups This place is definitely more popular for late night, but lunch is also a great option as it has no wait, and they offer a tasting menu for great value. Open kitchen made it fun to watch them cook.

Yes! This is the place where the filmed the awesome fight scene from the movie, "Kill Bill". Not only do you get to enjoy the traditional surroundings, but the food here is just too good to describe in a blog post. Let's just say I tried almost everything here and nothing, I mean absolutely NOTHING, was not satisfying and tasteful. It's one of my favorite spots in Japan! Enjoy

My partner and I visited the restaurant whilst on holiday. The food and service was wonderful, but the night was sadly ruined by two sous chefs of Indian decent - who stared my girlfriend down and talked about her in their native language. This made her very uncomfortable whilst I used the amenities. Whilst I was away they kept obviously looking at her, and said in clear English the words ‘beautiful girl’. It was a good night, but unfortunately ruined by a lack of respect.

I loved this place. You walk through a tiny door and welcomed by a local miniature drink and then taken to your seats.Vibe: a great vibe. Very social. Lots of foreigners too. They play music and you can tell everyone is having a great time.Service: fantastic. The host knew exactly who we were by name and knew our dietary requirements and suggested substitutions that were great. Our food came quickly and they had no problem with one guest using a fork instead of chopsticks.Food: the food was tasty. The portion size was great for the females but the men wanted bigger portions (which you may make bigger). I suggest try the fried chicken too. It was fantastic.Overall experience: I suggest coming to this joint before going out. It's a great uplifting environment and has good food with variety for everyone. It's worth the price and is very popular in the area.

I loved my experience here. It gave me a lot of spirited away energy with the lively staff. I had many options as a vegan and had the stone bowl rice (without the butter) twice and had the veggie rolls!! It’s definitely worth going during their drum performances as it adds to the ambiance. I would recommend the:Silken tofuStone pot riceVeggie rolls

This place is very touristy, but I couldn’t have cared less. It was a lot of fun and the food was tops! The service was very attentive and the food came out super fast. I think everyone visiting Tokyo should come by here. We had our concierge make a reservation and I would highly recommend it. The wait was long as the place was I really busy. I did the big Wagyu set which was 8900¥. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Decent food for a decent price, very touristy, staff speaks English and they are a bit pushy for people to order and finish their meals quickly... it only became famous because it apparently inspired Tarantino with the 1st Kill Bill movie .. BUT this is NOT where the movie was shot so don't be fooled. Definitely not recommend to those who look for authentic atmosphere.

Fun restaurant with really good food! It's a massive period restaurant near rappongi, definitely not what we were expecting when we entered. Large menu with lots of grilled food plus sushi. Celebrity photos on the wall, also parts of Kill Bill were filmed here Looks like it could be a tourist trap but it still draws in locals and the quality of the food is pretty high. There's a whole separate vegetarian and vegan menu, just ask for it.

Remember that sword fight in a Japanese restaurant from a Kill Bill movie? Yep, it was here. Another typical tourist place in Tokyo. Always crowded. Good atmosphere, looks good, fine food. It is quite a huge restaurant for Japan. However you only see European faces here and that makes you feel it’s all fake. Anyways, worth to visit once.

Went on a Saturday night and it was so packed!! Lots of foreigners. Most staff can speak English and I think most are foreigners too. Loved the overall vibe. You can just go up to the second floor to take a photo of the place. Food didn't disappoint. Must order: beef tongue/gyutan 👍👍
